Supreme Court (SC) Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno is convinced that it is possible that her impeachment case is due to some grudge Duterte had against her in the past.
Other than that, Sereno said, the possibility also is that many are uncomfortable or happy in her position as Chief Justice so he wants her to be expelled from office.
Sereno will strike down on the Supreme Court's decision to ratify the Executive Department's move to bury his former President Ferdinand Marcos in the Liberation of Heroes.
The chief justice is also voted against the Martial Law extension in Mindanao, which is also against the Duterte administration.
Sereno also wrote a letter to Duterte in 2016, expressing her concern for the seven trial court judges involved in illegal drugs.
President Duterte has earlier denied that he has nothing to do with the move to impeach her.
President Duterte asserted that even ask the complainants and congressmen if they were being called by him.
The President also said that lawmakers will be Sereno's judge and not him because the Executive does not cover Congress.
