Senate Blue Ribbon committee chairman Richard Gordon warned the public of allegedly politicized plans by other officials who supported the amendment of the country's Charter Change (Cha-Cha).
It is still a hot government campaign to transform the Philippine government system from semi-unitary to federalism.
Gordon said, it is better to have the call from the public to amend certain provisions of the Constitution.
The senator believes that the current Constitution (1987 Constitution) can address the needs of Filipinos, as well as various sectors, if not to change the constitution first.
The Blue Ribbon chair, however, will require the country's P7-billion amendment to the Constitution, something that could fund the current and future government projects.
Gordon advised, slow down the process and likened to the passage of the United States.
It is also thought of what kind of federalism will be implemented by the government in the country.
