North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has invited President Trump to a meeting on May 2018

It is scheduled to be held in May a meeting between US President Donald Trump and North Korea leader Kim Jong Un.

This is the announcement this morning by South Korean national security adviser Chung Eui Yong who is visiting the White House today.

Chung, who last week only faced Kim, served as the emissary of Pyongyang.

Chung informed the North Korean leader's invitation to present a US president who was also accepted by Trump.

He said Kim's conditions would cease carrying out nuclear and missile tests.

Two leaders in May will discuss the ultimately denuclearization or stop the communist country in its nuclear program.

Chung added that the North Korean leader was anxious to meet the American leader.

The White House thanked South Korea for serving as a bridge for the historic presence of the leaders of both countries.

But today the sanctions against North Korea will remain.

"He will accept the invitation to meet with Kim Jong Un at a place and time to be determined. We look forward to the denuclearization of North Korea. In the meantime, all sanctions and maximum pressure must remain, "White House spokesperson Sarah Sanders said.

The international community has called on North Korea and the United States to talk to reduce the tension in the Korean peninsula.
