Duterte definitely not benefited, even probably being cheated from alleged 2016 elections fraud - Palace


MalacaƱang stressed that President Rodrigo Duterte did not benefit from the alleged manipulation of the results of the 2016 elections.

11 Aegis Juris fratmen charged with the death of Atio Castillo




The Department of Justice has filed a criminal case against ten officers and members of the Aegis Juris Fraternity.

This is related to the death of University of Santo Tomas (UST) law freshman student Horacio "Atio" Castillo III.

In their advisory, the DOJ said that their filing resolution filed a filing of the case at the Manila Regional Trial Court against ten fratmen relating to the violation of the Republic Act 8049 or the Anti-Hazing Law.

On the 46-page resolution of the DOJ signed by Assistant State Prosecutor Susan Villanueva and approved by Acting Prosecutor General Jorge Catalan Jr., he found the probable cause of the case filed by the Manila Police District eleven suspects.

Among those charged with violation of anti hazing law are Arvin Balag, John Paul Solano, Mhin Wei Chan, Ralph Trangia, Oliver John Audrey Onofre, Danielle Hans Matthew Rodrigo, Joshua Joriel Macabali, Axel Munrio Hipe, Marcelino Bagtang, Jose Miguel Salamat, Robin Ramos

According to Acting Prosecutor General Catalan, the panel of prosecutor considers the testimonies of state witness and aegis juris member Mark Anthony Ventura.

Meanwhile, the DOJ rejected the complaint against UST Faculty of Civil Law Dean Nilo Divina and UST Faculty of Civil Law Secretary Arthur Capili as well as other members of Aegis Juris because of lack of evidence.

Castillo was found dead in September, 2017 after his hazing of Aegis Juris Fraternity in Manila.

NO WAY, Agnes Callamard can not be forgiven, says MalacaƱang




The Philippines can not forgive the United Nations special rapporteur Agnes Callamard because of its statement that President Rodrigo Duterte's campaign against ILLEGAL DRUGS has resulted in extra judicial killings.

Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque said it was too late to heal the wounds due to Calllamard's criticisms of the administration.

He also said the government was disappointed because Callamard entered the Philippines without being invited by the state.

"We can not forgive Callamard, to go to the Philippines uninvited and make her conclusions as though he were investigating," Roque said.

Counting in May last year when Callamard went to the Philippines to attend the 30th anniversary of the Commission on Human Rights.

Roque said that during those years the Philippines and the United Nations were in the process of negotiating for Callamard's investigation.

According to Roque, the situation was broken because Callamard had made a conclusion that his investigation of Duterte administration's anti-drug war campaign had just begun.

"Maybe it would be a long time before the pain of your wounds resulted in what Callamard did. It's painful for Callamard yet, she came here unannounced and that time when we were in the process of negotiating her investigation, "the official added.

More P133-M tax evasion case, filed vs Rappler's online news site


The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) filed criminal charges in the Department of Justice (DOJ) earlier this morning against the online news site Rappler or Rappler Holding Corporation.

Rappler's unpaid tax will be P133.8 million in 2015 including income tax and value added tax.

In BIR records, Rappler failed to pay Income Tax Returns (ITR) and Value Added Tax (VAT) violations of sections 254 and 255 of the National Internal Revenue Code of 1997.

The BIR case also involved the chief executive officer and president of Rappler Maria Ressa and treasurer of James Bitanga.

Those charged with the Certified Public Accountant Noel Baladiang of R. Manabat and Co., were violated Section 257 of the Tax Code.

Baladiang signed and certified the financial statement of the online news site despite the company's ommission and misstatement in their income.

Actor Bernardo Bernardo dies at 73





The stage-movie-actor veteran Bernardo Bernardo passed away at the age of 73.

This was announced by Bernardo's nephew, Susan Vecina Santos via Facebook this Thursday morning, March 8.

Santos did not mention the cause of the death of the actor.

In January alone, the veteran actor of his 73rd birthday celebrated, along with the request of his friends to pray for him because of the discovery of the tumor in the pancreas.

UV Express driver arrested of gun toting




A driver cocked a gun to his fellow his driver at the terminal at EDSA - North Avenue, Wednesday evening.

According to PO1 Wally Dizon, who was stationed near the terminal, a suspect allegedly handed over to the suspect, alias "Bong."

When the police arrived at the terminal, the suspect's hand was immediately raised but his gun was pulled into his body.

Bong denies the allegation of firing. He allegedly carries a gun because he has a friend who wants to buy it. He did not even show people the gun.

Bong also admitted that his gun had no paperwork because it was still processing. His paper last November was expired.

According to the police, it is impossible to carry or release a gun without any papers so the suspect may be facing grave threats and illegal possession firearms.
