De Lima to Duterte: Mga drug addict at kalaban sa politika ay hindi mga anay na dapat puksain

Image from kapamilya.com

In a latest news article from Politiko, here is what Senator Leila De Lima said in referring to Duterte's way in eradicating illegal drugs in the country. She also said about Duterte's way of eradicating his political foes like her.

"These are human beings. He should address the root causes of the country’s problems instead of harassing and killing people."

"Peace-loving Filipinos should remind the President that suspected drug addicts and political dissidents are not termites that he can ‘exterminate to save the house."

"Violence solves nothing."

"President Duterte should understand that peace-building is a painstaking process and that there are legitimate grievances such as injustice, poverty and lack of economic opportunities fuelling insurgency in the country."

"But it’s not yet too late in going back to the negotiating table if the government is really sincere in seeking non-violent means to address the communist rebellion in the country."

"Unless, that is, Duterte’s true intention is to establish an authoritarian regime that eliminates dissent and kills democracy."

In MERALCO's statement, P0.97 / kwh should have an extra charge this month.

Ouster plot vs Speaker Alvarez Pushed in Congress

Pantaleon Alvarez urged supporters to the House of Representatives in the midst of alleged plans to remove him as the House Speaker.

Quezon City Rep. Winston Castello, Oriental Mindoro Rep. Reynaldo Umali, and Isabela Rep. Rodito Albano is still supported by President Rodrigo Duterte, so it is difficult for him to be ousted, said Speaker Alvarez.

Umali said there is no doubt in this support of the chief executive of the House of Representatives because it is said to be the oldest ally.

Albano pointed out that the "non-issue" was an informal plot against Alvarez.

For Castelo, Speaker Alvarez is the "cornerstone" of Malacanang in its legislative agenda.

Earlier, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque last week appealed to Alvarez's leadership of the leadership because it was the "longtime-ally" of President Duterte.

This is followed by the disagreement between Alvarez and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.

It does not necessarily mean that it is a phenomenon to prescribe her because the seniority of the Supreme Court seems to have not been followed.

Sereno was appointed by Aquino on August 24, 2012 after Renato Corona was impeached.

NPA not invited in 81st Araw ng Dabaw

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio has been working on why she will not invite members of the New People's Army (NPA) to the upcoming Araw ng Dabaw.

It was once recalled, the city had been inviting rebels to take part in big-city occasions but the mayor won't do it this year because she does not want to be included in the police list that provided support to government enemies.

In spite of this, Mayor Sara will continue to condemn any rebellious acts of the NPA.

It was learned that in the days of former Mayor and now President Rodrigo Duterte, NPAs were invited to participate in city activities especially on Christmas and Araw ng Dabaw.
